The King of the Highway determined its targets for the year 2016

Metro Turizm family got together in Antalya between the dates of November 23 and 26. During the 3-day camp, which brought together the managers of all provinces and districts reached by the wheels of Metro Turizm buses, the year 2015 was reviewed and also the targets for the year 2016 were determined.

The leader firm of Turkey’s highway transportation, Metro Turizm, brought together all the agencies, which provide service in Turkey, from west to the east, in a camp held at Antalya Von Resort Golden Coast Hotel. During the camp, which is held at the end of each year and has become traditional, the year 2015 was reviewed, and investment planning and targets for the year 2016 were determined.

On the first day of the camp, a large scaled meeting was held through the participation of managers from all regions. The opening speech of the meeting, which started with a stand in silence and the Turkish National Anthem, was given by Operations Center Director Akin Pervaz. Pervaz stated, Metro Turizm reached a huge fleet of 1,434 vehicles, since 1992, the year of its establishment, and reminded, it transports 65 thousand passengers in average, every day, with 950 active agencies; he also evaluated the general statistical data for the first ten months of the year 2015. Pervaz, also shared regional performances and customer servicers reports with the audience.

 

COMPLIMENTS FROM GALIP ÖZTÜRK

While Deputy Chairperson of the Board of Directors Çigdem Öztürk also participated the meeting, she also brought compliments from the Founder and Honorary President of Metro Turizm Galip Öztürk. Öztürk started her speech, telling “I brought you, our dear fellow workers, compliments full of love and yearning from our Founder and Honorary President Galip Öztürk”, and thanked the agencies, which contributed hugely to Metro Turizm becoming the biggest firm of Turkey in terms of figures like fleet, turnover and passenger. Öztürk went on: “Here today, I am proud of giving this speech to you, representing Mr. Galip and my family. Thanks God, I can feel the spiritual presence of my dear father here, as feel it all the times. When I look at you, I can see the work he created and I can see himself. One of our biggest sources of price is to provide bread for ten thousands of people, service to millions of people and the added-value we created for our nation and humanity. Metro does not just belong to us; it also belongs to our employees, our shareholders and our nation. I absolutely know, there are no problems we cannot overcome, with our knowledge, the corporate infrastructure we have and our eagerness to work. We brought Metro’s flag to the summit and kept it flying in the best manner possible, and both myself and Mr. Galip, we believe we will keep its place at the summit with the same desire, eagerness and determination. I hope the meeting to contribute to success and good deeds both in my name and the in the name of our honorary president. I also want to state, I will be honored to work with you side by side during many nice, successful and happy days. From now on, I am part of your team.” 

 

“LONG-DISTANCE BUS SERVICES WILL BE A THING OF THE PAST”

As for Mustafa Yildirim, Chairperson of the Board of Directors of Metro Turizm, who pointed out changes in transportation systems, he stated the sector lost around 24 million passengers due to the effect of airways and railroads, and the increase in car ownership. Yildirim, stating the number of buses providing service in the highway passenger transportation reduced from 12 thousand to 8 thousand within the last 15 years, went on: “Long-Distance Bus Service Sector became smaller in very short period of time due to airplanes. Turkish bus sector, rapidly recedes to short and middle-distance transportation. Long-distance bus services will be a thing of the past.”

Yildirim, stating, the bus sector is complementary to the other transportation systems, told the bus firms have to position themselves accordingly in the changing and renewing transportation systems. Yildirim, emphasizing the number of firms providing highway passenger transportation in Turkey reduced from 576 to 330 since the year 2001, told: “In my opinion, the necessary number of firms for Turkey is 100, at most, and I believe it will even be less firms providing service in Turkey in the future. For, the state will increase the professional and financial qualifications to be fulfilled. 

 

CONGRATULATIONS MESSAGE TO BINALI YILDIRIM

Mustafa Yildirim, who also transmitted his messages congratulating Izmir Deputy of Justice and Development Party Binali Yildirim, who was reappointed as the Ministry of Transportation, Maritime Affairs and Communications, a post he previously held for 12 uninterrupted years, stated: “The transportation policies of our nation presents us great opportunities. Mr. Binali’s reappointment as the Minister of Transportation has been very good for us, since he knows transportation and our problems very well.”

Yildirim, who expressed, education will be the first priority during the periods to come, told: “Metro Academy is ready, it will start to display activities in the beginning of the year 2016. Acting together with the Ministry of National Education, Ministry of Internal Affairs and Ministry of Transportation, we will provide our employees a certificate, which will be valid everywhere. Metro Turizm will be the biggest and the only brand in the future of Turkey.

HARDEST MONTHS OF THE YEAR HAVE COME

Another figure, who gave a speech during the meeting was Senol Ayyildiz, Head of the Bus Group of Metro Turizm. Ayyildiz, who reminded, the leader highway firm of Turkey has achieved many successes since 23 years, and stated the hardest months have started for the highway passenger transportation. Ayyildiz, stating a hard bend of 6 months, covering December, January, February, March and April, and even May, awaits the bus sector, and Metro Turizm management is ready to do its best in order to support the members of the sector. 

 

ANKARA GOES THROUGH A REORGANIZATION

Ayyildiz, reminding, reorganization is initiated from time to time in certain regions, in order to increase the quality of the service and customer satisfaction, stated one such reorganization process is experienced in Ankara. Ayyildiz, expressing Ankara region is one of the most important regions for passenger transportation location-wise, after Istanbul, and all vehicles providing service to the city will be replaced with 2+1 suite vehicles.

Ayyildiz, stating all agencies throughout Turkey, which provide service under Metro Turizm, are tied to the firm with bonds of communion, more than bonds occurring due to financial reasons, obtained a promise from all regions for the year 2016, with regard to how they will keep their shoulder to the wheel and keep their leader position in the sector. After the large-scaled meeting, the camp went on with regional meetings.

Seat-back screen brand Funtoro, which displayed their screens in booth they set up, throughout the camp, also held a gift draw during the night. During the ceremony, 3 tablet computers were given as gift, and Owner of Antalya Metro Mehmet Kaymak, Elbistan Metro, and Owner of Malatya Metro Haydar Yigit, were the lucky winners.

FIRST MARATONS TO JOINT THE METRO FLEET

TEMSA, which offers brand new products to the bus market, displayed its new vehicle Maraton, which it first introduced on November 12, 2015, and which will bring the bus passenger transportation to a different dimension, throughout the camp. Members of Metro Turizm, who found the opportunity to examine the vehicle closely, put themselves in for the first Maratons to be produced by the band. Senol Ayyildiz, Head of the Bus Group of Metro Turizm, stated, Metro Turizm, which will rejuvenate its vehicle fleet, starting from the year 2016, already placed order for the first Maraton buses to be produced by the band. Ayyildiz, stating 50 Maratons will soon be included to the fleet, and a total of 100 Maratons will be eventually included, told, relevant negotiations are also ongoing with Temsa Safir Plus, in addition to these 100 new vehicles.
